Blog is moving to a new home!
Hello everyone!
Just writing a quick note to let everyone know that my blog will be moving to a new home VERY soon. It will have nice big pictures and hopefully some cool new features. So, be sure to update your bookmarks - and those with rss feeds may have to change the address once the page is up and running.
The new address will be posted later on today...
Thanks!

A triple threat!
Is it still called a triple threat when it's not the standard 3 - acting, singing, and dancing? I'm not sure, but if it can be, then this girl is that, and more.
From what I hear, a talented dancer, a fantastic piano player, and also an aspiring actress. These are just a few of what I'm sure are her many talents.
We had a great time running around downtown in the snow, wasn't too bad until the wind started to pick up.
Here are a few of my MANY, MANY favorites from this session.
I had so much fun taking these, thanks Sam!

I know I promised, here they are!
These photos went out as Christmas presents, so I didn't post them back when they were taken, just in case a family member found out.
Here are a few of my favorites - oh and also check out the sweetest puppy...
Meeka
The great part about them having their photos already is that I know which ones are their favorites and I can post those here.
Here are a few from their fall session - I wish it was looking more like this
outside!
Meeka was peeking...
And a few in a grungy alley...
Have a great week!

A short lesson in hoarfrost...
I spent a very chilly morning with a wonderful couple and I am really excited for their winter wedding. I am really not a huge fan of snow and cold and, well, most things winter related, but I was so excited to wake up the morning of their photos to see hoarfrost on all of the trees, and I knew Renee would be THRILLED.
She, unlike me, is a big fan of winter, and from what I hear, a fantastic figure skater. I am not going to reveal too many details about Renee and Blain's wedding, so that you can watch for their wedding photos, but let me just say that I had to make a call to my mom to find out if I have any skates hidden away at their house somewhere.
And for those who are wondering, here is a short lesson in hoarfrost:
It is the white ice crystals that form on trees, branches, wires, poles, etc. that form on cold, clear nights when the temperature of the object is lower than that of the air. I think I have that right...
Why is it called hoarfrost you may ask...
Hoar-frost first turns up in written English in 1290 as hore frost. Strictly speaking, hoar-frost is the kind of frost that turns everything it forms upon white or gray. Due to the fact that hair turns gray with age, things that are white or gray are often associated with old age and this is the original sense of hoar.
This is taken from Take Our Word For It, in case you were wondering, or want to check out some other old, strange sayings and words.
So, with that in mind, on to a few of my favorites from our chilly morning!
Winter Wonderland...
Is this a figure skating move? I used to figure skate - more years ago than I want to say, but the way that Renee is standing with one foot turned like this reminds me of skating, or maybe ballet...
This one is my most favorite - LOVE IT!
Renee and Blain - I am really looking forward to your special day, and all of the fun that I KNOW it will be. You disks are just about ready, I will be getting them to you soon.

The Lexington...
I was asked to come and take a few photos at Kingsland's The Lexington last week - they were in need of some photos of details in the suites that make them stand out, and upgrades, etc.
So here is just a very small selection and also a link to their page if you are interested in giving them a call to see/purchase a place.
The Lexington Medicine Hat Web Page
Some Kohler faucets...
I really love all of the windows and natural light in some of the rooms...
Granite counter tops and eating bar in the kitchen...
This is a master bedroom, I really really like the idea of a little sitting room off of the bedroom. At least that is what I would do with it... ;)
There are a lot of really interesting angles, this particular one is from the ceiling of the room pictured above... This would be especially great if you had an M as a first or last name! :)
Anyhow, that's it for now! Hope you are having a great week!

PHOTOBOOTH IN ALBERTA!
I know I posted yesterday, but I just found this and I was too excited not to share! Alberta now has a traveling photo booth for weddings!
Here is the link...
The Photobooth Co.
By the looks of it, they are from Calgary, but will travel.
What a fun thing to have as wedding souvenirs for all of your guests! They come with your name and/or date on the strip too.
Here is a video that they have posted on their site - it's about 2 and a half minutes long and shows what they are all about.

All of them!
Here is just a really quick sneak peek of the family photos that I took of the bride's side of the family the day after the wedding - see previous post for the wedding preview.
Wedding Preview
We had a great time, and I was SO GLAD that we decided not to brave the cold. Instead we went to the leisure center where it was so nice and toasty warm.
Here are a few of my favorites...
Cute!
Mom & Dad doing some boating...
I really love the color in this one...
The sisters...
Daniels family,
Thank you so much, I had such a fun time, and it was great to see you again after so many years! I am just about done everything and you'll be getting your disks very soon! :)

A wintery wedding and a friend from the land down under...
A few months ago a received an e-mail titled - Hello From Australia! - A photographic request.
This was a completely unexpected surprise, I thought to myself that I didn't know anyone in Australia except one person. A girl who I grew up with and spent grades 1 through 12 with in french immersion. We were pretty well inseparable for some of those years. She got married right after high school, became a nurse and moved to Australia. I really hadn't talked to her since then, I am not going to say when that was, but suffice it to say that we just a reunion. Which is why is was so fantastic to hear that she was coming to Medicine Hat for her sisters wedding and also for Christmas.
I spent a few days with Tracie and her family and it was so great to re-connect with an old friend, we had a great time catching up.
Anyhow, the reason Tracie had e-mailed was because she wanted to have some nice photos taken of the newlyweds to give them as their wedding gift.
So, we met right after the ceremony on a REALLY cold snowy day, here are just a few of my favorites...
The gorgeous bride right before the ceremony...
The handsome groom...
And a couple of the happy newlyweds...
I met the day after with Tracie and the brides side of the family for some fun casual pics - a preview of those will be coming soon too.
Congratulations to you both!
