I had the pleasure of meeting baby Mariah a week or so before her photos. I was especially excited to meet her because her parents and I have been friends for a long time, and she didn't disappoint, she is sweet!
Here is a link to mom and dad's maternity pics a few months ago...

Though it was nap time, not too much sleeping actually happened during the photos, but they are great anyway. And to top it all off, I didn't even get peed on! (Mom did though...tee hee...)
Here are a few of my favorites...
Looks like she is really considering something...
I love this one because she already looks a bit annoyed that dad is kissing her!
Cuddling up with mom...
The whole family...
This is definitely one of my favorites! See what I mean? CUTE!
Congratulations to mom & dad, she is beautiful!

Mama-to-be and an embarassing story...
So, I will start this post off with a story...
Last Saturday I met with Megan and Ryan - the soon to be parents in these photos... It was a bit hectic at my house before the shoot, I was trying to load my car up, make sure I had everything, get everything together for our stay at Skip's parents house that night, get Quin organized, calm Quin down, he didn't want me to leave...the list goes on...that is life with a two year old!
Anyway, I finally got out the door and to the college where I was meeting Megan, Ryan, their two dogs Zuke and Patty and their brother (who was dog sitting). Within the first five minutes the pink helium balloon I had tied to my "prop" bag came untied an flew away oh so gracefully... it was so sad... Balloon aside, the session went really well and we got some FANTASTIC shots - as you'll see below, though somehow I managed to lay in what I am pretty sure was goose poop.
After the photos I went to Skip's parents house and we had some pizza and then it was time for Quin's bath. I just happened to look in the vanity mirror in the bathroom and was... well, pretty horrified! I turned to Skip's mom and yelled "LOOK AT ME!" and she said "I am, what's your problem?" or something like that, I was too horrified to remember exactly what she said.
Well it turns out that in all of the rush around before the session I had only braided half of my hair... it really did look silly. Anyway, after a good laugh my parents-in-law tried to make me feel better by telling me that they probably didn't even notice, and if they did, I could pretend that I had done it on purpose, and that I was just "artsy" like that.
I can only shake my head... but enough of my embarrassment and on to the sneak peek that I KNOW Megan is waiting for...
I did have a chance to meet Megan before the actual day of the photos and I can can say in all honesty that I have never met anyone as excited to be pregnant as Megan. She is absolutely glowing... Megan had a few specific shots in mind that she really liked the look of, so, we re-created those and came up with some others too...
Here is a family photo with the pups Zuke & Patty. Megan brought lots of treats to keep them happy, and bribe them into looking at the camera...
I sometimes take shots that don't include heads, or all of the head, I wondered if people liked it, or thought that it was strange, but Megan asked for some shots like that... which made me feel much better about them.
My favorite part of this one is the grass on the bottom of Megan's feet!
The beautiful mom-to-be... I really love this one!
There are so many more beautiful photos, but I don't want to spoil the surprise. If you watch the slide show underneath of this post, you may find two more there...
Congratulations to you both, I know that this baby is really going to be loved...

Slide Show Part 1
Because Amanda & Shaune don't live in town, I am posting their slide show here for them.
I am working on a better way to post these to the blog or the website, but for right now, this will do... :) Unfortunately, it is you tube quality as well. There are two parts (you tube didn't like the length of the show)
Enjoy...

Looking for Christmas Pictures?
Are you wanting to have photos taken for Christmas this year? I will be posting some photos of the cards that I will be offering soon, but I just thought that I would take a quick second to remind those that have not yet booked. I know there are a few of you out there that have mentioned wanting photos for Christmas that I have not heard from yet. As far as weekend dates go - I only have 1 left between now and November 15th - It is October 18th-19th... If you want to get in on either of those days - send me an e-mail and let me know, and I'll get you booked in. :)
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!

Part 3 - Amanda & Shaune
So, here is part 3 - there really are SO many photos that I still want to share - so I am going to post the slide show on the website shortly. I will post a link here so that you can all find it easily.
Amanda walking down the aisle, seeing Shaune for the first time (that day).
The candle lighting...
The group, with umbrellas...
The newlyweds!
Congratulations you two!
I am working on the slide show and then i'll get you your disk. Your wait is nearly over... :)

What happens when you give grown men umbrellas?...
O.k. so I was just working on editing some group photos, and I really couldn't pass these up - normally not really keepers, but I just had to post them.
This is just after he hit her in the head with the umbrella, not even sure how it happened, he is quite a bit taller...
See if you can find the reason I named this post "What happens when you give grown men umbrellas"...
Look at Amanda's brother on the far left...too funny!
Have a great weekend!

Part two...the ladies!
I thought that I would start this post off with a kind of silly photo, but this is what happens when you are in an open field and guests (who don't know they are coming to a wedding) are driving past. They may have wondered what I was doing there though...
The girls and their SEXY lips... (oh, and I learned my lesson with the boys, the girls photos were taken on the pipes side on the bike!)
I especially like Amanda's model pose...
The family...
I was really hoping that Amanda would want some pictures around the old barn, and she didn't disappoint!
What a beautiful dress to spin around in!
Ok, this is my ALL TIME favorite, not just of their wedding, but possibly ever... (out of my own photos, of course) Anyhooo, just so that you all know, Amanda was the coolest bride ever, this was taken BEFORE the wedding, all laying in the grass, not a worry! I'll say it again, LOVE IT!
Thank you so much Amanda for being "up for anything"
Expect part three of this series early next week...

The Big Day... Part 1
So, as you have read in a few previous posts, Skip & I had the pleasure of attending Amanda & Shaune's surprise wedding.
http://dayinthelifephoto.blogspot.com/2008/08/day-in-park-biggest-blog-post-ever.html
We had a great time, and I wanted to share a few pics taken before the ceremony - I want to post so many, this will probably be in 3 parts over the next few days. So, without further ado, here are some getting ready pics...
Enter Amanda's mom, who thought that she was coming to the farm for a family BBQ (which would explain all the people and cars) - what she didn't know was that her girl was getting married that very same day. This is her wondering what the heck is going on and Amanda explaining...
Surprise number two...
Amanda's mom helping her get her necklace done up...
I really like this shot, it looks so romantic and glowy...
Some sweet light flare and the groom to be...
The men... Amanda's dad's bike - I am really not very knowledgeable about bikes, and so I do have to apologize for taking pictures on the non-pipes side of the bike...
The boys having some fun at the playground - this thing was not meant for four grown men, but at least it stayed standing, and they had fun...
This is one of the two ring shots, this one is Skip's - he didn't want to touch the rings for fear of dropping them in the tall grass, but even more than that, he didn't want ME touching the rings... I would never... intentionally. :)
Part two to come some time tomorrow, and don't worry this is just a VERY small sample of what is to come - once I have them all done, I will post a slide show of all of the pictures for those who want to see.

Calling all photographers...
Just got an e-mail from the b-school. The official launch is October 1. If any of you photographers haven't heard of Becker and the b school, you should really check out the video embedded above, as well as his blog and website. Besides his really fantastic photos, he and his team have some really fantastic business advice and ideas. Definitely worth checking out - and see you there Oct. 1...
