This is the final grouping that I am going to post on the blog - LOVE THEM!

This is my FAVORITE, FAVORITE, FAVORITE!

Thank you so much Cassie & Kyle for letting me be a part of your special day. I had so much fun and it was really great to get to know the Cassie that I had heard so much about.

I am working on getting the reception pics done, it will be a few more days for sure, but i'll talk to you soon! I really hope you love them as much as I do! :)

Beautiful Bride!

I am going to post Cassie & Kyle's pics in a few installments over the next week or so. Here are some of the bride,her mom and her best girls getting ready for the wedding last Saturday.

This wedding was particularly special to me because even though I had never met Cassie before her and Kyle's engagement photos, I used to work with her mom at Perkins and I really felt like we were already friends. http://dayinthelifephoto.blogspot.com/2008/05/baby-its-cold-outside.html

Here are a few of my favorites from that morning;

The gorgeous princess Sarah, before we became friends...

Mom helping with the necklace...

This one is my FAVORITE! There were some really long laces on the back of the dress and we were just discussing what to do with them... Ronda (i'm pretty sure no h, right?) thought that my suggestion was pretty funny.

Cassie, you look so beautiful!

The rings...

Getting ready to leave...

I really wish that I had a camera that takes video as well, I am not sure that the ladies knew I was taking pictures from afar, but they were all singing... it was one of my favorite moments.

Ceremony pics. coming in a few days... check back - and enter the contest below!

Roxanne & Marcus

I was so glad to finally meet Roxanne and Marcus after many e-mails back and forth. They are going to have a beautiful autumn wedding and we thought that we'd get together and take a few engagement shots in the nice summer heat, (and by heat I mean bugs) beforehand.

Here are a few of my favorites...

There were definitely some sweet nothings being whispered here...

This one is possibly my favorite...

Thank you so much you two, I had a great time!

Retouched...

I just wanted to do a quick post today about retouching. Planning for and taking the actual photos is really only a small part of the photo process for myself (as a photographer). So, just to understand how much better a photo can look with a bit of retouching, I am going to post two different versions of the same photos. One straight out of the camera, and the other after a bit of editing.

This first shot is an example of what some editing can to to surroundings... this photo already starts out pretty nice, I think, check it out...

Now check out how much more vibrancy and color it can have...

Here is another example - this one effects skin and teeth a bit more... there is nothing wrong with the first one, which is what came straight out of the camera.

This is the one that has had a little bit of help - a bit of cropping, teeth are a bit whiter, skin is a bit smoother,whites are a bit whiter...

So, i'm sure you can see the benefit of having a photographer that can give your photos a bit of a helping hand when and where they need it.

It can also do wonders for eyes, I couldn't find a good example, so i'll have to find one and post another day.

Thanks for reading!

Re-wedding...

Wow, to be married for 30 years... these two are my parents-in-law and they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in a few weeks. We scanned a photo taken on the wedding day and then updated it a bit - this is their invitation - the writing was on a separate vellum sheet over top. CUTE!

They are having a re-wedding (I call it that to be silly, but really its a vow renewal). In the SAME little church (chapel?) in B.C. where they were married oh so many years ago!
We did photos on a ridiculously windy day - we all nearly blew away, and it definitely made for some interesting hair in a few photos...(which I won't post)

They printed out their favorite photos and wrapped chocolates in them as favors for the guests at the reception. Yummy dark chocolate...

Here is another of my favorite pics. from that day;

We are staying at a fancy resort.... I am really excited. My husband is mostly excited to check out the cigar and brandy room - http://www.crownisle.com/

Anyway, this is the last photo I am posting for tonight, gotta go watch House from last night. I really do love the PVR.

Love...

I have been getting most of my jobs through word of mouth thus far, but now that my son is just about two, it's time to get some more work. I am getting all of my photos together for a website, but have not gotten that far yet, so I thought that this blog would be a great way to show some of my work in the meantime.
Here is a photo from one of my recent engagement shoots;

Here's another of my favorites of these two - they are so much in love...

We had a great time taking these, I am just gonna post two more. I have so many favorites...

And finally, the ring...
